Demography and Statistics
Humans are vibrant and dynamic creatures. They are born, grow up, pursue jobs or further education, fall ill, fall in love, move homes, find or build communities, have kids, retire, grow old and eventually pass away.
The timing and quantity of these events throughout the lifespan- where and when they occur, along with how many people share the experiences- can be tracked via surveys and censuses administered by the government.
Demography relates to the study of characteristics of people who are distributed throughout a given area, or more technically, to the statistics of human populations.
People are influenced by trends and phenomena, natural or otherwise, and create their own in response.
In terms of migration, pioneers migrate to far off lands in pursuit of their dreams(POLITICAL PEEPS SAY TO AMEND THIS), and others follow in their wake. These clusters form communities, known as 'ethnic enclaves', which provide comfort in the form of commodities, companionship, and culture, that hail from the homeland.
Staying connected to the community can sometimes mean the difference between having prosperity and support, or being stuck in poverty and solitude.
Knowing where to access demographic data can be the key to making major decisions relating to where to live, where to learn, where to work, and where to relax.
